How is a breast implant performed?

There are three different options:

-       Small incision in the fold under the breasts

-       An incision along the areolar border

-       Incision in the armpit

Duration (average): 90 to 180 minutes.

 

Anesthesia: General, epidural, or local with sedation.

 

Hospitalization period: 12 to 24 hours.

 

Suture Removal: After 7 to 10 days.

   

Preoperative Care:

Routine exams, no consumption of drugs that contain acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin, Doril, AAS), no smoking at least 15 days before, avoidance of alcohol, and following the specific indications suggested by the surgeon

 

Postoperative Care:

Avoidance of physical activity, sun exposure, use of surgical dressing or appropriate brassiere. Specific indications suggested by the surgeon.
