How is the ear plastic surgery performed?

The surgery begins with an incision behind the ear to remove excess of skin and to move the cartilage and reshape the fold where the ear joins the head.

What about ear plastic surgery scars?

Incisions are strategically located and scars are hardly noticeable.  

Duration (average): 90 to 120 minutes (bilateral) or 60 minutes (unilateral).

Anesthesia: General, local or local with sedation.

Hospitalization period: 12 to 24 hours.

Suture Removal: After 7 to 10 days.

Preoperative Care:

Routine exams, no consumption of drugs that contain acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin, Doril, AAS), no smoking at least 15 days before, avoidance of alcohol, and following the specific indications suggested by the surgeon.

Postoperative Care:

Avoidance of physical activity, sun exposure, use of elastic dressing over the ears for two to four weeks. Specific indications suggested by the surgeon.
